I’m at the Dashing Duchesses blog today, being interviewed by soon-to-be-published historical-romance author Jennifer McQuiston.

Jennifer was on my radar before she ever became a Duchess – in 2011 she finaled in the Golden Heart contest (the biggest annual contest for unpublished romance writers) and I came across an interview with her. And the book with which she’d finaled had a truly eye-catching premise: heroine’s husband drops dead hours after the wedding; for inheritance purposes heroine lies and says the marriage was consummated… which leads to extreme complications when she gets involved with a medical man who knows for a fact that her late husband had syphilis.

It’s the kind of premise that people say is too “out there” for mainstream publishing or mainstream contests, but not only did Jennifer final with it, she’s finaled again this year, this time with a book featuring… a hero struggling with impotence! And on top of that, she’s signed a publishing contract with a major house! So I can’t wait until her first book comes out (this is yet a third quirky story, featuring a heroine who wakes up with no memory of the night before, and also with a Scotsman in her bed), and in the meantime, it was a treat to chat with her.

To celebrate, I’m doing an early giveaway. Three copies are available on my Facebook author page, and, for those who don’t do Facebook, I’m giving away one copy to a random commenter on this post.

This is an international giveaway, both at Facebook and here. So I hope I get lots of international entries.

To enter the blog giveaway, leave a comment below, between now and midnight Pacific time on May 20. You don’t have to leave any identifying information besides what WordPress requires of you when you log in. That’ll be enough for me to get in touch with you if you prove to be one of the winners.

To make the comments interesting for me to read, please tell me your favorite thing to eat for breakfast. I like hash browns, particularly scrambled with cheese and peppers. Though most mornings I eat Fiber One cereal, the kind that looks like a bowlful of twigs.
